Last updated: 23 August 2026

This policy explains how BéthaniaSwiss Sàrl collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal data when you visit bethaniaswiss.com, create an account, place an order, subscribe to communications or contact our customer service.

Data processing is governed primarily by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and its ordinance. The European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may also apply in certain situations.

1. Data controller

Béthania Swiss – BéthaniaSwiss Sàrl
Rue du Bois-Noir 48
2300 La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland
Email: bethaniaswiss.contact@gmail.com
Telephone: +41 77 990 53 13

You may use these contact details for any question about data protection or to exercise your rights.

2. Data we process

2.1 Data you provide directly

  • Account and order: first and last name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number, account credentials, order history, products ordered, preferences and order-related communications.
  • Payment: chosen payment method, status, amount and transaction identifier. Full card details are processed directly by the payment provider and are not stored in full by Béthania Swiss.
  • Customer service and forms: the content of requests, documents or information you choose to send, and communications by email, forms, telephone or WhatsApp.
  • Newsletter and marketing: email address, consent status, preferences, campaign interactions and, if you are a customer, relevant shop information.
  • Reviews and content: name or pseudonym, rating, comment and other content you choose to publish.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • IP address, connection date and time, pages and products viewed, browsing events and referring URL;
  • device type, operating system, browser, language, resolution and technical data;
  • online identifiers, cookies, pixels and measurement or advertising attribution data;
  • technical logs, security data, errors and information required to prevent abuse.

3. Purposes and legal grounds

We process data as necessary to:

  • present products and ensure the site’s operation, security and performance;
  • manage the cart, customer account, orders, payments, deliveries, returns and after-sales service;
  • respond to requests and communicate with customers;
  • comply with our accounting, tax, commercial and legal obligations;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents and non-payment;
  • measure audiences, improve the site, analyse campaigns and understand shop usage;
  • send newsletters and commercial offers when requested or permitted by law;
  • personalise certain communications or advertising, subject to applicable choices and rights.

Depending on the context, processing is based on contract performance, compliance with a legal obligation, your consent or our legitimate interest in operating, securing and developing the shop. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time for the future.

4. Shop, accounts and orders

The shop runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. When you add a product to the cart, create an account or place an order, WooCommerce processes the information required for those operations. Certain data is retained to track orders, provide support, process returns, prepare accounting records and prevent fraud.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Please notify us if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

5. Payments

Depending on the options available at checkout, payments may be processed by Stripe, WooPayments/Automattic and PayPal. These providers receive the data required to authorise the transaction, prevent fraud and comply with their own legal obligations. They may act as independent controllers for certain operations.

We generally receive payment confirmation, a transaction identifier, the amount, currency and limited payment-method information, but not the full card number.

6. Communications, forms and WhatsApp

Site forms may be provided by Contact Form 7, Elementor Forms or WPForms. Information entered is transmitted so we can respond to your request and may be stored in WordPress, our email logs or by our email provider.

If you use the WhatsApp button, your interaction is transferred to WhatsApp/Meta. Your number, profile and conversation content are then processed under WhatsApp’s terms. Do not send sensitive data that is unnecessary for your request.

7. Newsletter and Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp, an Intuit service, to manage lists, send campaigns and synchronise certain shop data. If you subscribe, your email address, preferences, consent information and certain message interactions may be processed by Mailchimp. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in each communication or by writing to us.

8. Analytics and advertising

The site uses Google services, including Google Site Kit, Google Tag and Google for WooCommerce, as well as Meta/Facebook tools including Meta Pixel and Meta for WooCommerce. These services may collect identifiers, IP address, technical data, pages or products viewed and events such as adding to cart or purchasing.

They are used to produce statistics, measure conversions, optimise campaigns and, where authorised, create audiences or personalise advertising. The providers may combine this information with other data associated with your account with them.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses cookies necessary for the shop and, depending on the configuration and your choices, preference, analytics and marketing cookies. Detailed information is provided in our Cookie Policy.

10. Recipients and service providers

Your data is accessible only to people and providers who need it to perform their duties. Depending on the service used, it may be disclosed to:

  • Hostinger and technical providers responsible for hosting, security, backups and maintenance;
  • Automattic/WooCommerce, Stripe, WooPayments and PayPal for the shop and payments;
  • carriers and partners required to prepare and deliver orders;
  • Google and Meta for analytics, advertising, product synchronisation and campaign measurement;
  • Mailchimp/Intuit for newsletters and marketing automation;
  • WhatsApp/Meta when you choose this channel;
  • our email and support providers;
  • authorities, courts or advisers where required by law or to defend our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

11. International transfers

Some providers may process data in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, the United States or other countries. Where the destination country is not covered by a Swiss adequacy decision, we rely on recognised safeguards, including appropriate contractual clauses, or a legal exception. Use of an external service may also be subject to that provider’s transfer commitments and mechanisms.

12. Retention period

We retain data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described, then delete or anonymise it, subject to a retention obligation or legitimate need for evidence.

  • order data, invoices and accounting records may be retained for the applicable legal period, generally ten years in Switzerland;
  • account data is retained during the customer relationship and thereafter for as long as necessary to manage possible obligations or disputes;
  • contact requests are retained for the time needed to respond and provide reasonable follow-up;
  • newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe, subject to retaining evidence of the choice made;
  • technical logs, cookies and analytics data have varying retention periods depending on their function and provider settings.

13. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risks, including communication encryption, access management, updates, backups, logging and payment-related security measures. As no system can guarantee absolute security, use a unique password and remain alert to fraudulent messages.

14. Your rights

Under the conditions provided by the FADP, you may in particular request:

  • whether we process data about you and obtain the information required by law;
  • access to your data and, where applicable, a copy in a commonly used format;
  • correction of inaccurate data;
  • erasure or destruction of data, subject to our legal obligations;
  • restriction or cessation of certain processing and objection to certain uses;
  • delivery or transmission of data in a commonly used electronic format where legal conditions are met;
  • withdrawal of consent for the future.

To exercise your rights, write to bethaniaswiss.contact@gmail.com. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

15. Minors

The shop does not seek knowingly to collect personal data from children who lack the capacity to enter into a transaction or provide valid consent. Legal representatives should supervise minors’ use of the site.

16. Changes

We may amend this policy to reflect legal, technical or commercial changes. The applicable version is the one published on this page with its update date.
